Meet Tiffany Hughes

I've always had a heart for helping others, and I quickly fell in love with speech-language pathology because of the many ways it can improve a person's quality of life. After earning my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh, I began my career treating feeding, swallowing, speech, language, cognitive-communication, and voice disorders across medical, rehabilitation, private practice, and school settings. Working with patients from infancy through adulthood has given me a deep appreciation for the unique goals, challenges, and strengths each individual brings to therapy.

Outside of my professional life, I've also been an advocate and caregiver for family members facing significant health challenges. Experiencing healthcare from the perspectives of clinician, patient, and caregiver has shaped the way I practice today. I believe exceptional therapy goes beyond exercises and treatment plans—it begins with listening, understanding each person's story, and building meaningful relationships. My goal is always to provide compassionate, individualized care that helps patients and families feel supported throughout their journey.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me kayaking, gardening, hiking with my three dogs, trying new restaurants, traveling, or composing music. Those experiences remind me how meaningful it is to fully participate in life, and that's ultimately what I hope to help my patients do.

Being a speech-language pathologist is about so much more than helping someone speak. It's about helping people communicate their thoughts, connect with the people they love, eat safely and confidently, learn new skills, regain independence, and participate in the activities that give life meaning. Whether I'm helping an infant overcome feeding difficulties, supporting a school-age child in building communication skills, or helping a 90-year-old veteran enjoy a favorite meal again, I consider it a privilege to be part of that journey.

Helping people connect, communicate, and live fully.
